In some stories Genies live inside lamps. But in The genie Down Under the genies live inside an opal. Its similar to the gold that Genies like, it flashes light. I just like the light. But I prefer the Genies that come from Down Under. They have the power to grant wishes. Which means make peoples desire's come true. But the genies are also a bit tricky and have their own ideas.
Pamela, a young girl from England found the opal necklace in her attic. But when her family moves to Australia Otto says it belonged to his ancestors, which means his relatives in the past, and her great grandfather stole it from him. He's trying to get it back. She has a crush on Conrad his son, and she thinks he likes her too, but Conrad is trying to steel the jewel back for his family. The opal is very old, over two hundred years,
Dianne is my favourite character on the show. I've written more about her in my poem.
In my Crystal Reading Cards the Opal card symbolises Joy. It reminds you to lighten up, take life less seriously, celebrate and have some fun. Opal is the birthstone of people born in October. Which makes it mine. I have a smidgen of opal in my heart.
Are Opals a lucky charm? A kind of talisman, which means an object with special powers? In the Middle Ages people thought they were lucky because they have the colours of all other gemstones inside them. But Sir Walter Scott wrote a novel called The Lady of the Mist that made everyone think that opals were spooky and they became unpopular. I don't like opals that are too creepy I like the ones that are more glamorous. Like when Dianne wears the Opal at the end. The black opals are the rarest and the most valuable, they're also the hardest to find.
The Genies from Down Under (with Anna) It starts with these opals Emerald green that she - Penelope - Wears around her neck Like a pendant - Penelope is snobby and British She thinks the girls are jealous But they're not, they're just annoyed And I like her mother Lady Diana Townes And she falls in love with Bruce, one of the Genies Even though she was in love before with Lord Bubbles, A rich business dealing man - And one day Penelope goes to the attic She finds a glass bowl with an opal inside it Smoke comes out because there are genies inside it You have to rub it with your hands And the genies come out, Australian genies - Bruce and Baz, father and son And the genies say the words: "You're the Master now You've got an opal in your hand Your wish is my command." Conrad is Penelope's boyfriend He's the nephew of Otto, a smelly old man Conrad is a teenager and he tries to steal her opal That's how his character works
