Its really amazing the Titanic exhibition. Its one of my top favourites out of all the exhibitions I've been to. I went with my brother James and Monique. You could board the ship as though you were a passenger on the Titanic. The ship was very luxurious. I have a photo of myself as Rose in that moment where they play 'my heart will go on'. But first, lets get the details about the film.
The film was a 1997 film, based on the historical disaster of they Titanic that crashed under Captain Edward John Smith. He's the one who said he thought the ship would never sink. It was a "romance - disaster" film. It told the story of the romantic couple who fell in love on board the ship of Titanic. I think thats divine love. The necklace in the film is also divine. They say it came from Louis XVI. In the film Rose's fiance gives it to her before they sail on the Titanic. The necklace is glamorous. I'd like to give my Mum something like that for mothers day. Its very rare because its a blue sapphire, cut into the shame of a heart.
It starts with Rose, the main protagonist as an old lady. They show her objects she took with her on the ship of the titanic. Its very sad with her, the old lady. Her memories of the past that take her back there.
Jack is the artist in the film. He shows Rose all the sketches in his sketch book. She thinks he must have had a love affair with the woman whose hands he drew there. But he says he was just in love with her hands. Rose asks Jack to draw her portrait with the heart of the ocean necklace. Jack was blushing in that scene because he is attracted to her. That scene was shot first because they hadn't built the rest of the set, the one we saw at the exhibition at that stage.
Rose's Mother Ruth is trying force her to marry Cal Hockey for money. Ruth's mother came form a very rich family, and wanted to force Rose to marry Cal, so she could continue having a a luxurious lifestyle. She looks very serious to me. She doesn't approve of Jack. My favourite part of the set is the place where Rose was kissing Jack up the front of the boat with her arms open. I love to Celene Dion song too. Miss Piggy does a duet with Celene Dion of that song too.
I've also studied this film in university, in a course about relationships. It talked about intimacy, meaningful communication that Jack and Rose have in the film. Its more than just physical intimacy. They get to know one another. In my university course they gave us the Plato quote "the highest form of love is knowledge". When they do the drawing, its shown on the news eighty four years later, their private life becomes public.
The old Rose's story makes the crew cry. At the end of the film she has made her peace with her memories of the Titanic and lets the diamond necklace fall into the water.
