Wishes for stories and stories about wishes

Wishes and where they come from.

Why do people make a wish? Is it to make something come true, for themselves or someone else they love the most? I just like believing. Like the Our Lady of Passion card in my Mother Mary Oracle Cards.

I like believing of the nature and the goddess stories. They're very serious, aren't they. And of religions. They're serious too aren't they. People's faith. And being faithful too. It says in this card that passion is to find your true purpose in life. I find my true purpose in the creation of beauty.

In I Dream of Jeanie the master gives Jeanie a copy of 1001 Arabian Nights because there are many stories about Jeanies in the book, and her wants her to learn from their example. To study the book. To repeat it until she remembers it. To do what they do. Because in the book they do what their masters tell them.

Most of the stories in 1001 Arabian Nights are composed as prose (which means stories) but some parts are composed as poems, like the songs and the riddles within the stories. It reminds me of the Magic Riddle, the film where the Grandmother tells all the fairy tales and mixes up different parts of them to make new fables from them. All the witches, warlocks, wizards, and their wands and magical potions.

What is the meaning of a wish? One wish of mine is to know all of the stories of 1001 Arabian Nights. I would like to visit the Middle East, which is where these stories came from. But there is a lot of conflict there at the moment. For the people Jeanie came from.

Do they celebrate Christmas too? Not really. Can you tell me why? Just different religions, different beliefs and holidays. In Islam, Judaism and Christianity though they all come from the same root. Most religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism, think that women are holy goddesses but different people even within the same religion can have different ideas about their role. There were many different religions in the Arab world before Islam, with polytheistic religions, which means religions with many gods, we read on the internet that there were over 360 different gods at Mecca. It reminds me of the Greek gods, of Cupid and Hercules, even though he was more of a powerful man than a God, like Zeus, his father, I wonder if they had similar gods and stories to those. And if thats where goblins and other magical creatures in fairy tales came from. I wonder if the people in those stories had their wishes granted too? Introducing my poem, about women in Buddhism, the wishes of their heart and minds.

Being with a Buddhist Heart

(and Other Thoughts on My Cards)

By Emma Brodie

I don't know what Buddhism is but we talked about it today. Sometimes I don't get it about serious things but I really want to find out. I found images of Buddhist monks and nuns; the monks wore orange robes and the nuns wore pink, red and brown. Sometimes they do healing; they have special meditations and they light candles. They sing their prayers: it is called chanting, which comes from the voice and the heart. Monks and nuns, they are like poets. In the Buddhist prayer card, they have beautiful words and I like all of them; words like: "may all beings have happiness" and "may all beings be free from sorrow and the causes of sorrow."

Religious monks and nuns they are separated so they don't have to worry about anything else other than prayer. Anna follows some Buddhist advice, like meditation. I got shown about meditation on her phone app. I liked it but I got a bit bored with it. Anna said that's normal, it's called "monkey mind" when you jump around everywhere with your thoughts and with your heart. My sister has a monkey shower-cap. Yes, we talked about how it's not that relevant but it's a funny thought, and Anna said: "Well Emma, that is an example of monkey-mind right there!"

I have monkey-heart energy because I'm a flirter goddess. But my mission is deeper than that, my mission is to fall in love, like it says on the Guinevere card: "True Love: the romantic stirrings in your heart have propelled the universe to deliver great love to you." Guinevere is very romantic, she is. I know some people don't like romance but I do. I want to be like the Guinevere in the cards, Guinevere who truly loved Lancelot.

My praying is a bit complicated, I like getting the prayer cards, I think it's because - well, I don't know what my reason is but I like the cards. I thought about some suggestions for why I like them: I learn about different religions, I learn about different topics of spiritual things and it's different to learning about Australia Day, which is about a long time ago that's history. The cards are a bit of history but they talk about all the things that people believe in, religion things that are in museums around the world.

I am curious, which means I like learning about things but it's hard for me to stick to one topic because my mind goes to think of many different things. That's my monkey mind, which is a lovely mind because monkeys are cute, like Dexter in Night at the Museum, who is really adorable when he kisses Ben Stiller's lips. I'm not that cheeky though, it's for babies to be cheeky, I have young woman thoughts now, like of these cards "Listen Only To Love" "Open Your Heart To Love" and also the Writers Group card because I have my own writers group, which for me is about all the words you can write about your passion.
